Driving a car. Ohmai..I'll be there for you through it all,
Even saving you sends me to Heaven. Hi! It's me again on the 21st of January of the oh-nine, at 3.30 p.m. Tried to wake up at 8.30 a.m. today. The alarm rang, three alarms to be exact, but I unconsciously turned all three of them off and continued sleeping. Dad called from work at 10 a.m., which woke me up. I had to pretend like I was awake for sometime already because I didn't want him to know that I stayed up late. Too much enthusiasm in my voice I guess. I went super high pitch while talking to dad in bed. At 11 a.m. sharp, off we go again to the place where we had our lectures. And I was supposed to wait for the instructor to finish with the other guy. After registration, he drove the car to a shady area. He showed me a piece of paper on how the manual gear works. Then he ABANDONED me in that deserted area to "go have his lunch". As I sat there, toying the gear stick absentmindedly, two dragonflies flew into the car. Initially, I thought it was a bee and was prepared to jump out of the car. But, it was two dragonflies, one blue and one green. I took a picture of the green one because it was nearer to me. I think I spent that time taking more pictures of my surroundings than recognizing the gears. Then he came back to the car. With a cig in his hand. Woohoo! First try and my engine didn't stall. He kept repeating that the clutch is the most important pedal, ever. And he coached me on how to steer the car. On a really long, straight road, he allowed me to step on the gas, just a little itsy bitsy bit. Well, obviously it's slow and I got frustrated and stepped on the gas more. Instructor, Me. *thinks "Fuck this, I'm going faster! Rawr." and hits the pedal* Oi oi! Why are you going so fast? SLOW DOWN! STEP ON THE CLUTCH! *steps on his brakes* *QQ's* (Had to slow down.) Girl, you're just learning how to steer, not how to race! Mmkay.. :< *curses him silently* I know how to drive already, I guess. Just that I don't know the techniques. It's easy to steer and I wasn't the one that was steering. He was holding onto the wheel the whole time. Gradually, he lets me steer by myself and I'd speed up occasionally. Of course, he'll ask me to take my leg off the gas pedal. He taught me how to perform an U-turn after that. Then he asked me to pull over. And what did he do?! HE ATE! Oh my god. He left me alone, just to go smoke. Why don't he say so? He smoked like.. 5 sticks while I was there or more. Eww, right? And he spit everywhere like it's nobody's business. Next stop, side parking! He told me how to get into the lot and how to get out of it. A LOT of steering was involved. And to steer, I think I bruised my hands. I mean like A LOT. And it was hot. Which made me sweat. :/ I managed to park without hitting them poles. Next up was three point turning or whatever it's called. That was easy. Hill, here I come! The instructor was handling the handbrake for me initially. So I made it through the hill a few times without any problems at all. Then I have to handle the handbrake by myself. The sequence is to step on the gas a little and when you're up there, you step on the clutch, hard, and then brake. Then, use the handbrake, step on the gas pedal and release the clutch a little. When the car jerks forward, quickly release the handbrake. I kept releasing the clutch instead of the brake pedal. And then! Engine stalled. Not more than ten times though. Probably about 5. The second last time I tried, the whole car jerked forward, kind of made weird explosion kind of noise, and the engine stalled. :x Everyone there went like, "Whoa!" and, the instructor was scared to death that he screamed. Poor old thing. The last time I tried was better. It jerked forward only because I was too eager to release the clutch. Hopefully it'll work during the exam. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Damn regret, I'll try to forget. Don't worry about me 'cause I'm refined. |
